Bono, Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Wilde Help Jimmy Kimmel Shop for World AIDS Day

A slew of stars including Bono, Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Wilde, The Killers and Snoop Dogg helped Jimmy Kimmel raise money for World AIDS Day on Tuesday at his first ever (RED) Shopathon.

“We have a good show for you — and, unlike our usual shows — which are done for our own personal gain, this one is for a good cause,” Kimmel said as he interviewed the U2 singer via the Wall of America from Carnegie Hall.

And then there was Matt Damon … who was the butt of all jokes as usual.

“As you can see, we have some of the world’s most talented and beloved celebrities helping out tonight. Unfortunately, we also have Matt Damon,” the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host continued.

Matt Damon is an actor. In the ’90s he was in a movie where he liked apples — and then he played Liberace’s boyfriend … and that’s — I think that’s basically it,” he said, mocking Damon’s role on “Behind the Candelabra.”

“Anyway, as you may know, Matt has been scheduled to appear on this show for the past 12 or so years. And while I try very hard to squeeze him in, we just haven’t had time.

“But I said that in the name of charity I would try my best to get him out here,” Kimmel continued.

After waiting patiently in his dimly-lit dressing room, “The Martian” star was eventually allowed out in public — all for a good cause, of course.

The “Jimmy Kimmel Live: (RED) Shopathon” combined World AIDS Day and Giving Tuesday to to raise money for the (RED) charity to help fight AIDS.
