Box Office: Tomorrowland Disappoints in Debut

Tomorrowlandhad a disappointing debut at the box office over the slow Memorial Day holiday weekend, but still managed to finish in first place.

The Disney film starring George Clooney opened with an estimated $41.7 million over four days, just edging out Pitch Perfect 2, which fell to second place with $38.5 million, Box Office Mojo reports.

Mad Max: Fury Road fell to third place with $32.1 million, followed by Avengers: Age of Ultron with $27.8 million and Poltergeist, which opened at No. 5 with an estimated $26.5 million.

At No. 6 was Hot Pursuit with $4.5 million, followed by Far From the Madding Crowd with $2.9 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Furious 7 (No. 8, $2.7 million), Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 ($2.4 million) and Home No. 10, $2.4 million).
