‘About A Boy’ Producers Sign 2-Year Overall Deal With 20th Century Fox TV

Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger have closed a two-year overall deal at 20th Century Fox Television Studios (TCFTV). There, they’ll not only develop new projects, but also join Fox’s fall comedy “Grandfathered” as supervising producers.

“We’ve loved Isaac and Elizabeth ever since we worked with them on ‘Friends With Benefits,’ and while that show didn’t go the distance, we knew we wanted to get them back on our lot and watch them grow,” said TCFTV President of Creative Affairs Jonnie Davis. “They’ll start out on ‘Grandfathered,’ which is a very big priority for us this fall, and they’ve already proven to be an amazing asset to the staff. We’re thrilled to have them on the studio roster and to develop with them down the road.”

Aptaker and Berger got their first professional writing jobs at 20th Century on “Friends With Benefits.” The duo worked with “Grandfathered” executive producer Dan Fogelman on “Neighbors” and spent time with Jason Katims on NBC’s “About A Boy.”

On the feature side, Aptaker and Berger are adapting Gayle Forman’s young adult novel “Just One Day” for Universal, with Fake Empire producing. They are also working on an adaptation of “Sleeping Beauty” for Sony with Original Films producing and Max Winkler directing.

The longtime friends are represented by Verve, Management 360 and Hansen Jacobson.

“Grandfathered” stars John Stamos and will air on Tuesdays this fall on Fox.
