American Idol may be getting a little bit country.

Brad Paisley is in contention to join the Fox singing competition show as a judge, Deadline.com reports.

The Grammy-winning country singer, who has performed on Idol before, would fill the seat vacated Steven Tyler, who departed the series last week with Jennifer Lopez after Season 11. Fox declined to comment on the report.

Fox Boss: Mariah Carey joining American Idol

On Monday, the network announced that Mariah Carey had signed on as a judge for Season 12. She'll reportedly receive a salary just shy of $18 million.

With the addition of Carey, and possibly Paisley, the judges' table would seemingly be complete — Randy Jackson is expected to return — though Deadline reports that the Fox series might expand the panel to four judges again. Idol had a four-judge panel for two seasons before reducing it back to three in Season 10 when Tyler and Lopez joined.
