Buzzmakers: RPatz Surfaces & Jennifer Gets Engaged

What had ET readers buzzing this week?

1. Robert Pattinson Sits Down For First Post-Scandal Interview

In what could be the year's most anticipated interview, Robert Pattinson refused the chance to bad mouth Kristen Stewart for her admitted two-timing with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

The actor sat down with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show, looking tense and avoiding making any direct references to the recent scandal.

Pattinson managed to stay playful, partaking in Jon's breakup ice cream, and admitting that the situation is going to lead him to make one major change.

"My biggest problem is I'm cheap and I didn't hire a publicist," Pattinson said, explaining that a publicist would've been able to handle the media better. "I'm going to hire a publicist."

Stewart issued an apology on July 25, saying, "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

"Boy, you are better off," Jon joked on Monday. "Kick her to the curb."

Pattinson's Daily Show interview was one of two appearances made on Monday -- the other being the Cosmopolis New York City premiere.

2. Jennifer Aniston Engaged to Justin Theroux

Jennifer Aniston got engaged to boyfriend Justin Theroux on August 10, ET has confirmed.

In a statement to People, Theroux's rep called the engagement "an extraordinary [birthday] gift" for the actor-screenwriter, who recently turned 41.

Aniston, 43, reportedly started dating Theroux in May 2011.

3. Report: Kristen Stewart Out of 'Snow White' Sequel

And the fallout continues for Kristen Stewart in the wake of her highly publicized cheating scandal with Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 22-year-old starlet will be written out of the planned SWATH sequel. Purportedly, the film's studio has decided to ditch the original follow-up, which had focused around Stewart, and go ahead with a "spin-off" centered upon star Chris Hemsworth.

A Universal spokeswoman confirmed they "are exploring our options to continue the franchise," however add that "no decision has been made."

No word yet on Sanders' involvement with the sequel, but a source close to The Hollywood Reporter claims he will return to helm the project.

4. Gabby Douglas to Appear on 'Oprah's Next Chapter'

Team USA's sweetheart Gabby Douglas has already snagged her first high-profile interview back home!

The 16-year-old gold medalist is set to sit down with the one-and-only Oprah Winfrey for an all-new episode of Oprah's Next Chapter airing later this month on OWN.

The interview will satisfy another dream come true following her recent swoon-worthy exchange with the cast of her favorite show, The Vampire Diaries. Douglas told Essence magazine that she likened the prospect of someday meeting Oprah to the dream phone call she received from President Barack Obama following her historic win for Team America's gymnastic team.

"My mom and I used to watch her shows," she gushed. "We just love her."

Set your TiVos! Oprah's interview with Gabby airs Sunday, August 26 at 8:30p.m. on OWN.

5. Evelyn Lozada: Domestic Violence Is Not Okay

Evelyn Lozada is speaking out for the first time since her soon-to-be ex-husband Chad Johnson's arrest last Saturday night for allegedly head butting her.

"It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I'm grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time," she tells ET exclusively in a statement.

Chad has since been charged with battery with a bond set at $2,500, and was cut from the Miami Dolphins team.

Chad reportedly told police that it was Evelyn who head butted him. According to the police report, Evelyn sustained a laceration on her forehead "approximately 3 inches in length," while Chad "did not have any visible marks or bruises."

VH1 has pulled the couple's upcoming reality show Ev & Ocho from its lineup.

"Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series Ev and Ocho from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," VH1 said in a statement.
