European Film Promotion, which has been organizing the program for the last 14 years, has named 29 film producers - from Ireland to the Republic of Kosovo – to bring together on the Croisette to meet, discusses projects and forge alliances.

For many art house and independent projects, cross-border financing and collaboration is a necessity in the European film industry and such networking events are key in securing creative partners.

This year's group includes such names to remember as Erika Wasserman of Swedish shingle Idyll, producer of Axel Petersen's Avalon, which won the international critics prize in Toronto in 2011; or Anton Iffland Stettner from Belgian-based Need Productions, producer of Ursula Meier's acclaimed feature debut Home (2008).

Several of this year's participants have films in the festival, among them Italian Viola Prestieri of shingle Buena Onda, an executive producer on Paolo Sorrentino's Competition entry The Great Beauty and producer of Un Certain Regard feature Honey from Valeria Golino; and UK participant Andrea Cornwell of Lobo Films, a producer on Ruairi Robinson's Directors  Fortnight title The Last Days On Mars.

Producers on the Move has a strong track record of picking future Euro stars. Previous attendees include Denmark's Louise Vesth, producer of Lars von Trier's Melancholia; Bettina Brokemper of Germany, whose credits include Margarethe von Trotta's Hannah Arendt; and Ada Solomon, the Romanian producer of Child's Pose from Calin Peter Netzer, winner of this year's Golden Bear in Berlin.
