‘Corazón Valiente’ Recap: Ofelia’s Secrets Are Revealed
The focus has turned to Ofelia, the devoted nanny of the Castillo family, on "Corazón Valiente." As more secrets are revealed about her past, she faces the opportunity to escape her current condition. However, she does not seem ready to give up her role as a caretaker.
Who is Ofelia?
Ofelia has remained in the background for most of the show. As the dedicated nanny, she has helped raise Willy and Fernanda. Although both children are now adults, she continues to care for them. Fernanda has an abusive relationship with Ofelia. The spoiled and vain daughter of Bernardo del Castillo views Ofelia as another servant who only exists to do her bidding.
The Truth About Ofelia
Ofelia is not just a simple nanny, and she has been keeping a secret about her past. Ofelia is actually the half-sister of Bernardo del Castillo. His father never accepted her because he considered Ofelia an unwanted child out of wedlock. Although she has dedicated her life to caring for Bernando's children, no one knew she was actually their aunt.
A Secret Love
Ofelia's relationship to the Castillo family is not the only secret revealed on "Corazón Valiente." She has had an affair with Darío, the father of Samantha, for many years. However, up to this point, Darío has refused to leave his wife for her. Ofelia has kept their relationship a secret to protect his marriage, but is finally ready to reveal the truth. However, she still hesitates to leave the Castillo home.
A Hidden Son
"Corazón Valiente" has decided to expose all of Ofelia's secrets at the same time. It is revealed that she had a son with Darío who has been raised by someone else. Although Bernardo del Castillo helped with the expenses for his education, even he was not aware that this was Darío's son. Ofelia admits that she now regrets not raising her own child, but still refuses to leave her job as a nanny.
Filling a Void
The separation from her son helps explain some of the reasons why Ofelia continues to work for the Castillo family. By raising Willy and Fernanda, she is filling a void in her life. Despite their careless attitude toward her and the constant abuse from Fernanda, Ofelia remains loyal.
A Dangerous Situation
Unfortunately, Ofelia's loyalty is meaningless for Fernanda. She has shared many secrets with her nanny including details of her first murder. Ofelia has remained quiet about her crimes, but Fernanda is the one who cannot be trusted. She is capable of killing Ofelia if she feels threatened about her revealing the truth.
