Craig Ferguson to Star on ABC Pilot ‘King of 7B’
Craig Ferguson‘s not exactly hurting for work after leaving CBS’s “The Late Late Show”: The Scottish comedian just landed the lead role on ABC comedy pilot “King of 7B.”
Ensemble comedy “The King of 7B” is penned by Howard Franklin, and produced by Dan Fogelman and Ben Karlin. Karlin also serves as showrunner.

From Rhode Island Ave. Productions and ABC Studios, the sitcom follows an agoraphobic recluse, Prentiss Porter (Ferguson) who ventures outside for the first time in many years when he spies what could be his soulmate moving into the building across the street. From there, he embarks on a journey of discovery right outside his front door.
Ferguson may be best known now for his many hosting gigs (“Celebrity Name Game” is the comic’s latest full-time job), but he co-starred on “The Drew Carey Show” for eight years, and recently did a six-episode arc on “Hot in Cleveland.”

Ferguson recently inked a multi-year overall TV deal with Lionsgate.
James Corden is succeeding the Scot behind the “Late Late Show” desk next month. Later this year, Stephen Colbert will serve as Corden’s new lead-in when David Letterman retires as host the “The Late Show.
