CW Developing ‘Arrow’-‘Flash’ Spinoff With Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Victor Garber and Caity Lotz
The CW is developing a potential new “Flash”/”Arrow” spinoff, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
The DC Comics-inspired project would star Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Victor Garber and Caity Lotz, all four of whom have previously appeared on the network’s other superhero shows. The project, still untitled, is described as a team-up style show featuring recurring fan-favorite characters from “Arrow” and “The Flash.”

“Arrow” creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim are working with Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Productions to develop the spinoff, which will not be part of the current pilot cycle.
Routh plays Ray Palmer, a.k.a. Atom, on “Arrow,” now on Season 3. On Wednesday’s episode, he finally debuted his new Atom armor and flew off into the night, a surefire signal that he might be ready to fight crime. Routh would reprise his role on the new series.
Miller and Garber appeared on “The Flash,” the network’s “Arrow” spinoff which debuted in October. Miller plays Leonard Snart (a.k.a. Captain Cold), a villain who teamed up with Heat Wave (played by Miller’s “Prison Break” co-star Dominic Purcell). Garber, meanwhile, plays Dr. Martin Stein, a.k.a. one half of the superhero entity known as Firestorm. He recently finished an arc with Robbie Amell, who plays Ronnie Raymond, the other half of Firestorm.

Lotz’s role on the new project is less clear. She played Sara Lance/Black Canary on “Arrow,” but the character was killed off on the Season 3 debut. It’s unknown how she will potentially factor into this project, especially considering the character’s sister Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) has assumed Sara’s crime-fighting alter ego.
The spinoff would also include three DC Comics characters who have not yet made their debuts on “The Flash” or “Arrow.”
Berlanti, Kreisberg and Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter, the team also behind CBS’s upcoming “Supergirl” drama, would executive produce the spinoff.
As TheWrap previously reported, The CW renewed all eight of its fall dramas — including “The Flash” and “Arrow” — at the Winter TCAs in January, where network president Mark Pedowitz also hinted at an upcoming spinoff.
