Dan Rather: I Have a Feeling Today Will Be a 'Good Day' for Romney (Video)

Dan Rather thinks the election Tuesday will be a "good day" for Republican Mitt Romney.

The veteran anchor, who covered the close 2000 contest among many other elections, said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that recent "spin, chatter and analysis" suggesting President Obama will win won't determine the vote outcome.

"I'll be honest with you, as I always try to be, " Rather said. "Something in my gut tells me that it's going to be a good day for Romney."

Rather said that while there are several electoral college combinations that could re-elect Obama, Romney supporters may turn out at the ballots in greater numbers.

"As a reporter, you don't report your gut, the polls all indicate that Obama has several paths to victory, Romney only has one," Rather said, noting that many predicted the 2004 race would go to unsuccessful Democratic candidate John Kerry. "There's some doubt in my mind that [Obama is] going to get his vote out, and Romney is going to get his vote out. His people are well-motivated to test the president."
