‘Dancing With the Stars’: Pro Dancers’ Romance Roundup

Yahoo Contributor Network

Apparently it's not all work and no play for the pro dancers stars of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." While the hit dance competition is currently on summer break (and while fans are waiting for the announcement of the all-important all-stars cast list!), romance may be heating up for some of the show's most popular pros.

Check out these summer love stories of the "DWTS" pro dancers.

Derek Hough's Reality Romance

Is popular pro Derek Hough in another reality TV romance? According to Celebuzz, Hough was recently spotted cozying up with former bad girl reality star Stephanie Pratt. Pratt, who was a star on MTV's "The Hills," is the second blonde from that show that Hough has been linked with (last year he dated "Hills" star Lauren Conrad).

As for Hough's latest "Hills" sighting -- with Pratt, at Beacher's Madhouse in Hollywood -- a witness said: "They were holding hands, kissing… hooking up in front of everyone. She was all over him at one of the tables. They were making out in front of everyone."

Maksim and Peta's "DWTS" Dating

Now here's a pretty pair! While rumors were swirling last spring about the status of their relationship (in May they were spotted smooching in Vegas), "DWTS" pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd have finally come clean about their real life romance. The couple recently confirmed to Celebuzz that they are indeed an item.

"There is nothing I don't like (about him)," Murgatroyd said, while Chmerkovksiy added, "We get each other's insanities."

An Us Magazine insider said of the already-serious couple: "Maks wanted a girlfriend. Peta is really sweet and an amazing girl who had a crush on him for a long time. They are really happy together and having a great time."

Cheryl Burke's "Bachelorette" Breakthrough

And talk about a reality TV crossover! "DWTS" pro Cheryl Burke recently dished to People that she would love to be the next star of "The Bachelorette."

My dating record hasn't been great the past couple of years, so if I have a chance to go on ["The Bachelorette"], I will," she recently told the magazine."I'm getting old, you know, so it's something of interest to me."

The 28-year-old added: "It would be fun to have a pool of guys around you and getting to know someone. I think if I had people setting me up with different guys I think it would be easier for me to meet someone to date."

This isn't the first time Burke has hinted that she'd like to dole out roses. In 2011, while commenting on "DWTS" pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy's stint on the Ukranian version of "The Bachelor," she quipped that she could be the "Filipino 'Bachelorette.'" So what are you waiting for, ABC? Sign her up!
