David Muir Joins Hoda Kotb, Regis Philbin to Co-Host Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame Gala

David Muir will join previously announced Regis Philbin and Hoda Kotb as co-host of the 2015 Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame gala, it was announced on Monday.

The 25th annual ceremony honors the pioneers, innovators and stars of the electronic arts, with this year’s gala being held at New York City’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The Emmy Award-winning Muir anchors ABC News’ flagship broadcast “World News Tonight with David Muir” and co-anchors “20/20.” He joined ABC News in August 2003 as anchor of the overnight news program “World News Now,” and has reported from international hotspots including Tehran, Syria, Tahrir Square, Mogadishu and Fukushima. He also famously landed an exclusive interview with President Barack Obama on Cuba.

• Dave Lougee – President, TEGNA Media
• Dr. Phillip C. McGraw, Ph.D. – Host and Executive Producer, “Dr. Phil”
• Donna Speciale – President, Turner Broadcasting Ad Sales

A portion of the night’s proceeds will be donated to the Broadcasters Foundation of America, a charity organization that provides anonymous financial grants to industry colleagues who are in need due to critical illness, advanced age, death of a spouse, an accident or other serious misfortune.
