Denise Richards and Richie Sambora Go Public With Rekindled Romance

After falling "In and Out of Love," Denise Richards and her Bon Jovi beau, Richie Sambora, are officially back on — and talking about it!

The TV star and the rocker, who dated from 2006 to 2007, quietly rekindled their romance last fall. Now, after spending a few months flying under the radar to see if they could make things work, they've decided to go public with their relationship, attending Midnight Mission's Golden Heart Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel together last night. Sambora, 52, was being honored by the Midnight Mission, which is an advocacy group for the homeless in Los Angeles.

"This is a big night for Richie, so I'm here to support him," Richards, 41, told E! at the event. "It's really important work that he does." Sambora was a little more candid about their relationship status, telling the website: "We're back on. It's all good."

When Richards and Sambora first started seeing each other in 2006, they had recently ended marriages with their respective spouses, Charlie Sheen and Heather Locklear. It was a headline-making hookup because Richards had been friends with Locklear when they were both still married, so Richards was initially accused of "stealing" Sambora. She later clarified what happened, telling Us Weekly she "[dated] a former friend's husband, [but did not] break up a marriage."

Richards and Sambora's first attempt at love was short-lived. In the year-plus that they dated, not only were they both working through divorces but they were also dealing with family illnesses and each lost a parent to cancer in 2007. After deciding to split, they remained friends and Richards even attended the funeral for Sambora's father.

The first buzz about a possible reconciliation came last November. Sambora, who had recently been treated in rehab, accompanied Richards to a birthday party for a friend in Los Angeles. By March, the cat was out of the bag when Richards and Sambora's 14-year-old daughter Ava, whose mother is Locklear, tweeted about an upcoming blended family vacation. Richards and her three girls – Sam, 8, Lola, 6 and newly adopted daughter Eloise, 10 months – flew to Hawaii to join Sambora and his daughter at a luxury resort. During the trip Richards and Sambora were seen walking hand-in-hand on the beach. Then last night they decided to officially share the news by formally stepping out together.

Another one of Richards' relationships that appears to be on an upswing is the one with her ex-husband Sheen. Although they've had a long, nasty history — with accusations and name calling aplenty — they're currently in one of their friendly phases and Sheen actually hired Richards to play his character's romantic interest in his upcoming series "Anger Management." Richards talked about the collaboration on Extra recently, saying: "Charlie came to me and asked me to do an episode on the show. I saw a sneak peek of the first episode and it's really funny. I did a table read last week. I play a love interest to my ex-husband."

"Anger Management" will premiere June 28 FX. Perhaps Richards and Sambora will walk the red carpet again for that event as well.
