Donald Trump and Fox News Summit Never Happened

Donald Trump’s much-anticipated meeting of the minds with Fox News never took place.

The Washington Post reported that the sit-down between network chairman Roger Ailes and the GOP frontrunner that was scheduled after Trump launched a short-lived boycott against the network never actually happened.

But Fox has left the door open if Trump wants to walk through.

“The door is always open for Mr. Trump to meet with our senior editorial team to discuss any issues he may have with our coverage of his campaign,” executive vice president of news Michael Clemente said.

“Mr. Trump continues to appear on Fox News and we haven’t changed a thing, so we don’t see any overwhelming need for a meeting at this time,” he continued.

The on-again, off-again relationship between the network and the GOP presidential candidate has stabilized; Trump recently appeared on shows hosted by Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity.

Trump is also making his first paid media advertising purchase with a new media firm. Television ads will start appearing in the next few weeks, signaling a shift from his more free flowing Instagram attack ads against opponents like Jeb Bush.
