'DWTS' Pro Derek Hough Will Need Surgery

Dancing with the Stars champ Derek Hough has a herniated disc in his neck and will need surgery, he just revealed to ET.

Hough already had to sit out on Monday night's show due to aggravating a pre-existing neck injury, leaving his partner Shawn Johnson to dance with her former partner Mark Ballas.

However, he doesn't have his surgery scheduled yet, and according to Us Weekly, he plants to continue with the rest of the season.

"It's discomfort. The pain will be up and down," he told the magazine. "The bone is just rubbing on the nerve. But you know, I'm not going to do any more damage to it and I'm going to keep going and keep going strong."

Hough, of course, isn't the only injured dancer in the all-star duo -- Johnson is also suffering from recurring knee issues stemming from her years competing in gymnastics, though you wouldn't have known it Monday night. The Olympic champion scored a perfect 30/30 for her Tango/Paso Doble fusion dance with Ballas.
