The more things change, the more they stay the same on Under the Dome. After last week's mind-boggling season premiere, the residents of Chester's Mill are right back where they started: under that dome. And it's safe to assume that Big Jim (Dean Norris) won't be winning any Father of the Year awards in the near future.

On Thursday's episode, Junior (Alexander Koch) gets a harsh reality check from - who else? - his father, after bloodying his knuckles in an attempt to punch his way out from under the dome. In the clip above, exclusive to TVGuide.com, Big Jim and Junior seem like they're working towards a reconciliation - but predictably, the conversation ends with a fist to the face. (Hey, at least Big Jim isn't shooting at his son this time around - baby steps!)

Under the Dome boss promises concrete answers in Season 3

But their past isn't the only thing that's going to deepen the rift between Big Jim and Junior. As Big Jim starts to suspect that new resident Christine (Marg Helgenberger) knows more about the origins of the dome than she's letting on, Junior forms an unlikely bond with her. "Junior makes a complete break from Big Jim and aligns himself with Christine in a very interesting, highly sexually-charged way," creator Neal Baer told TVGuide.com at the start of the season.

Do you think Junior and the other residents will ever truly be able to escape the dome? And is Junior and Big Jim's relationship beyond repair? Sound off in the comments, and check out a sneak peek from Thursday's episode above.

Under the Dome airs Thursdays at 10/9c on CBS.
