Fallon, Colbert, Kimmel, Corden, Meyers: See Late-Night TV Week 2 Rankings

Two weeks into the 2015-2016 TV season, “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” remained on top of the late-night ratings.

However, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” was the only late-night show in the 11:35 p.m. time slot to post gains year to year.

“The Tonight Show” averaged 3.7 million viewers for the week ending Oct. 2, down four percent in viewers from the same week last year, and a 1.0 share/5 rating in the advertiser coveted adults 18-49 demographic, down nine percent from a 1.1/05.

“The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” averaged 3.1 million viewers for the week, up 17 percent from the same week last year, and 0.7/04 in the key demo, up 40 percent from last year.

Despite the gains, Fallon posted his largest margin of victory over Colbert in the key demo to date, coming in 41 percent ahead of the CBS host for the week.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” posted 2.3 million viewers, down 11 percent from last year, and a 0.6/3 in they key demo, down 14 percent. In both years, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” aired rebroadcasts on Friday.

For the first two weeks of this season, “The Tonight Show” has averaged averaged 3.7 million viewers, down six percent from last year. It was also down in the key demo with a 1.0/5, down nine percent year over year.

“The Late Show” has averaged 3.2 million viewers per episode for the first two weeks, up 18 percent from last year. The show also posted a staggering 60 percent rise in the key demo with a 0.8/4.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” has averaged 2.4 million viewers per episode in the first two weeks, down 10 percent from last year. Kimmel was likewise down in the key demo, dropping 14 percent to a 0.6/3.

In the 12:35 a.m. time slot, “Late Night With Seth Meyers” was first, averaging 1.8 million viewers for the week, up 10 percent from last year. Meyers also posted a 0.6/4 in the key demo, up 20 percent from last year. In both years, Meyers aired reruns on Fridays.

“The Late Late Show With James Corden” averaged 1.4 million viewers for the week, up 10 percent from last year when Craig Ferguson was the host. The show also posted a 0.4/3 in the key demo, up 33 percent from last year.

For the first two weeks of this season, “Late Night” has averaged 1.7 million viewers, up eight percent from last year. It has also posted a 0.5/4 in the key demo, even with its performance last year.

“The Late Late Show” has averaged 1.4 million viewers in the first two weeks, up two percent from last year. The show has also averaged a 0.4/3 in the key demo, up 33 percent from last year.
