"Dear Mom, Love Cher" premieres Monday, 5/6 at 10 PM on Lifetime.

Like mother, like daughter!

Cher's life has been a roller coaster ride of love, success, and heartache -- similar to her 86-year-old mother, Georgia Holt (born Jackie Jean Crouch).

Lifetime's upcoming May 6 documentary, "Dear Mom, Love Cher," focuses on the singer's family history, starting with Holt's childhood in rural Arkansas through her six marriages and her pursuit of a career in entertainment.

Just in time for Mother's Day, the documentary features interviews with Holt, Cher, the singer's sister Georganne LaPiere Bartylak, and grandchildren Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman. It will also debut a never-before-heard duet between mother and daughter, as well as long-lost recordings that Holt recorded more than 30 years ago.

Holt performs "Homecoming Queen" in 1979 (at the 5-minute mark):

"This project started as a gift for my mom's 86th birthday. Like most things in my family, it was initiated by my sister Georganne, who asked me if I could update mom's album," said Cher in a statement.

"So I went big … I'm known in the family for doing that. My sister and I are proud of our mom and we want to share her with the world. My mom is exactly like Rocky. She never gives up!"

Born in 1927, Holt has seen it all and been through it all, including abandonment by her mother and poverty. She sought fame and fortune in Hollywood and found some success as an actress, appearing in "I Love Lucy" and "Ozzie and Harriet."

As shown in the promo image for the documentary, mom and daughter bear a striking resemblance to each other. And just like Cher, Holt has managed to "turn back time" looks-wise. In fact, when the singer brought her mother to the White House last year, President Barack Obama was amazed by Holt's youthful appearance:
