‘The Flash’ Casts Tony Todd to Voice Season 2 Villain Zoom

Zoom is coming to Central City, and “Candyman” actor Tony Todd has been cast to voice the famous DC comic book villain on Season 2 of The CW’s “The Flash,” TheWrap has learned.

The character is set to be the season’s main villain, and the casting of a voice actor implies the mystery of his true identity may be drawn out for a while. In the comic books, Zoom’s real life alter-ego is Hunter Zoloman, but producers have teased a potential change for the show.

Todd will first appear as Zoom in the season’s second episode, titled “Flash of Two Worlds.” He will menace Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen, the show’s original super-speedster, throughout Season 2, and newcomer Violett Beane will play another fast runner, Jesse Quick, who gets caught in the middle of the battle.

Zoom is primarily associated with Wally West, aka Kid Flash, in the comics, and perhaps not coincidentally, “The Flash” will introduce the character this season, as played by “Insurgent” actor Keiynan Lonsdale.

“The Flash” returns for Season 2 on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
