Former Fox News Anchor Alisyn Camerota Joins CNN

Alisyn Camerota is headed back to cable news.

A 16-year veteran of Fox News, Camerota was serving as co-anchor of “America's News Headquarters” when she left the network in March. On Monday morning, CNN announced that it was bringing her aboard to work across the network's different programs.

“I have been a fan of Alisyn's for a very long time, and couldn't be happier that she has agreed to come to CNN,” the network's president, Jeff Zucker, said in a statement. “She is not only a seasoned journalist with a great curiosity and passion for the news, but she has a presence on camera that I think is very hard to find. I can't wait to have her on the air at CNN.”

Camerota was equally as thrilled with the new union.

“From the moment Jeff Zucker shared his vision for innovative storytelling at CNN, I wanted to be part of it,” she added in a statement. “I know the power of cable news and it's exciting to be going to the place that invented it and continues to be the standard bearer for stories of international import. I've always admired the fine work of the journalists at CNN and I'm honored to join their ranks.”

Camerota's permanent role will be announced in the coming days, the network said, though her versatility as an anchor and reporter should prove valuable as CNN continues to adjust its lineup.
