Garth Brooks Special Airing on CBS Nov. 29

Garth Brooks will perform a rare live broadcast concert special, “Garth Brooks, Live From Las Vegas” for CBS on Friday, Nov. 29.

That’s right: Families still still divided from a fight the day before on whether the turkey was a little dry will remember what really matters as they listen to Brooks sing “Friends on Low Places.”

The two-hour special will air from the Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas beginning at 9/8c. The concert will be Brooks’ final performance of his one-man show at the Wynn, which has played to sold out audiences for the past three years.

The special finds Brooks playing his guitar as he walks his audience through his musical journey, paying tribute to influences including Merle Haggard, George Jones, Simon & Garfunkle, James Taylor, Otis Redding, Bob Seger, and George Strait.

“Blame it all on my roots,” said Brooks, “This is the soundtrack of my life. Growing up the last of six kids, music was the life blood of our family and as you can imagine, mom, dad, and each kid had his or her own favorite stuff and it all funneled down to me.”

No word on whether Chris Gaines will make an appearance.
