The Good Wife Taps Stockard Channing to Play Alicia's Former Hippie Mom!
We’re about to find out that The Good Wife’s Alicia Florrick didn’t fall far from the strong, outspoken tree.
The West Wing’s Stockard Channing will play Julianna Marguiles’ character’s mother in at least one episode of the CBS drama this season, EW.com reports.
Alicia’s mom, a child of the 1960s whose upbringing shaped her values, will provide another dimension of the lead lawyer’s backstory in the upcoming Season 4, which premieres Sunday at 9/8c.
Stockard was First Lady Abbey Bartlet for The West Wing’s seven-year run. In addition to her iconic turn as Rizzo in the 1978 big-screen adaptation of Grease, she’s acted in numerous movies and live theater productions and led her own short-lived sitcom The Stockard Channing Show in 1980.
