Hillary Clinton, Miley Cyrus Carry ‘SNL’ to Solid Premiere Ratings

Powered by Miley Cyrus and Hillary Clinton, “Saturday Night Live” drew solid ratings for the premiere of its 41st season.

The debut Saturday evening drew a 4.5 in metered market household ratings, up 13 percent from last season’s premiere starring Chris Pratt an Ariana Grande. It was “SNL’s” highest metered-market household rating since Jan. 24.

But the “SNL” premiere was down one tenth of a point from last year at 2.0. among viewers 18-49.

Cyrus pulled double duty as host and musical guest Saturday night, but it was Clinton who stole the show in a guest appearance as a bartender serving drinks to Kate McKinnon, who was portraying Clinton.

Total-viewer numbers for the premiere will not be available until Thursday.

A two-hour “SNL” primetime special, “Live From New York,” drew a 0.6 demo rating and 2.7 million total viewers at 8 p.m.
