‘Homeland,’ ‘The Affair’ Renewed by Showtime
Showtime renewed “Homeland” for a fifth season and picked up “The Affair” for a second.
“Homeland” will air 12 episodes in 2015, while “The Affair” will run 10.

“In its fourth season, ‘Homeland’ has brilliantly reinvented itself. It continues to capture the attention of a devoted fan base, and has provided an enviable platform for the successful launch of ‘The Affair,'” Showtime Networks President David Nevins said. “With thought-provoking, relevant and addictive storylines, both series have been embraced, dissected and much debated week after week. We're excited to see more from these complex shows in 2015.”

Season-to-date, “Homeland's” fourth season is averaging six million weekly viewers across multiple platforms, according to Showtime. “The Affair” is on pace to be the premium cable channel's most time-shifted original series, the network added in the announcement.
“Homeland,” produced by Fox 21, was developed for American television by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, and is based on the original Israeli series “Prisoners of War” by Gideon Raff.

Along with Gansa, Gordon and Raff, the executive producers for Season 4 are Alexander Cary, Chip Johannessen, Meredith Stiehm, Avi Nir, Ran Telem and Lesli Linka Glatter.
“The Affair” is written and executive produced by Sarah Treem. Hagai Levi serves as executive producer and co-creator with Treem. Jeffrey Reiner is executive producer and director, along with exec producer Eric Overmyer.

Both series currently air on Sunday nights starting at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
