‘Humans’ Clip Imagines Robotic Servants Run Amok (Exclusive Video)
Artificially-intelligent servants turn out to be a little too lifelike in an eerie new clip from the upcoming AMC series “Humans,” set to debut June 28.
The sci-fi series is set in a parallel present wherein humanoid robots are the latest must-have technology. Following four concurrent storylines, the series explores the impact that AI bots might have on the human population.
In the clip, “synthetics,” as the robotic servants are known, have become advanced enough to cause anxiety for their human owners.

“We can’t keep insisting they are gadgets. We have made them more than that,” says one character as the words “out of our control” flash across the screen in all caps.
Based on the Swedish series “Real Humans,” the eight-part drama is written by Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley and co-produced with the UK’s Channel 4 and Kudos, the makers of “Utopia” and “Broadchurch.”

“‘Humans’ is a series that is both incredibly entertaining and engaging on a character level, and a very timely exploration of the kind of impact the AI technology being developed today might have on our everyday lives,” said Joel Stillerman, AMC’s executive vice president of programming, production and digital content. “You don’t have to be a sci-fi fan to enjoy this story. As the title implies, it’s very much about the human side of the topic.”
“Humans” premieres on AMC Sunday, June 28 at 9 p.m. ET.
