‘Humans’ Gets Season 2 Renewal From AMC, Channel 4

AMC and Channel 4 have renewed “Humans” for an eight-episode Season 2, the networks and production company Kudos announced on Friday

The cable drama that has averaged 2.0 million viewers and 1.0 million adults 25-54 through its first four episodes in live+3 ratings will enter production next year.

“Humans,” based on Swedish science fiction drama “Real Humans” from Matador Films, is written by Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley, and produced by Kudos in association with Matador. Vincent and Brackley both executive produce, along with Derek Wax and Chris Fry for Kudos, as well as Henrik Widman and Lars Lundström for Matador Films.

The series takes place in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a ‘Synth’ — a highly-developed robotic servant that’s so similar to a real human it’s transforming the way we live.

Gemma Chan, William Hurt, Tom Goodman-Hill and Katherine Parkinson are among the stars.
