According to the film's official synopsis, The Master is "A 1950s-set drama centered on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as 'The Master' whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter who becomes his right-hand man."

But when you realize how the descriptions for PTA's past films (Blood was "A story about family, greed, religion, and oil, centered around a turn-of-the-century prospector in the early days of the business" while Boogie was "The story of a young man's adventures in the Californian pornography industry of the 1970s and 1980s") barely begin to scratch the surface about what they truly were about, I'm sure you'll agree that we've only begun to see what The Master has in store for us on October 12!
