Jack Osbourne Goes to the Dogs for Nat Geo WILD
Jack Osbourne might have missed out on competing NBC's reality series "Stars Earn Stripes," but don't worry -- he just landed another gig. And much like that other show, there are heroic elements involved.
Osbourne will executive-produce -- but not appear in --a new series, "Alpha Dogs," for Nat Geo WILD.
The new reality show will follow the training regimen behind the elite K-9s of Indiana's Vohne Liche Kennels, who have served police departments, the Secret Service, and even participated in the hunts for Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden.

Osbourne's Schweet Entertainment partner Rob Worsoff will also executive-produce, along with J-T Ladt and Ashley Hoppin for Nat Geo WILD.
"'Alpha Dogs' will focus on these highly trained dog heroes that have muscle and smarts," Nat Geo WILD executive vice president and general manager Geoff Daniels said of the project. "Our viewers will love to see the incredible drills and exercises the dogs undergo, follow the instruction process with their dedicated trainers who carry top security clearances, see the application in the field for military and police units, and even watch the fun they have playing fetch on their days off."

"We are excited to partner with Nat Geo WILD on this project and show everything from examining how the dogs are trained to detect drugs, weapons and improvised explosive devices to finding a hidden cell phone in a prison cell, to focusing on other real-world situations in everyday communities," Osbourne added.
Osbourne's mother, "America's Got Talent" judge (for now, anyway) Sharon Osbourne, made headlines this summer when she attacked NBC for cutting her son from "Stars Earn Stripes" -- which pits celebrities against each other through a regimen of training exercises -- after he announced that he had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
Sharon also said that she was quitting "America's Got Talent," which is also aired by NBC, though she did not explicitly state that she was doing so because of the "Stars Earn Stripes" situation.
NBC countered that it had offered the younger Osbourne alternate roles on the series, which he turned down.
