Jeff Bader Moves From ABC to NBC

Jeff Bader, a longtime executive at ABC, has moved to NBC to take the newly created position of president, program planning, strategy and research, NBC Entertainment, NBC announced Wednesday.

Bader will oversee long and short term program planning for NBC's primetime, daytime and late night programming, and also supervise the windowing strategy for primetime and late night programming across all NBCU platforms as well as interfacing with NBC News and NBC Sports.

He will work closely with the east coast's network division led by Ted Harbert to provide coordination with the sales, affiliate, and distribution areas.

"He is widely known as one of the broadcasting industry's most consummate executives and he will be integral to the re-building of NBC in many ways," NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said of Bader. "He has deep experience in so many key areas of running a network in today's challenging environment that he will instantly prove to be invaluable to us as we look to the future. I am excited to welcome him to NBC."

Bader, who joined ABC in 1988, most recently served that network as ABC Entertainment Group's executive vice president, planning, scheduling and distribution. In that capacity, Bader was the senior executive in charge of primetime and late-night program planning and scheduling.
