‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ Posts Biggest Weekly Audience Since Timeslot Switch

Late-night funnyman Jimmy Kimmel really had something to laugh about with the latest ratings numbers.

For the week of Nov. 18 — the most recent period that weekly numbers are available for — ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” posted its most-watched week since the show switched over to the 11:35 p.m. timeslot — placing it in direct competition with NBC’s “Tonight Show With Jay Leno” and CBS’s “Late Show With David Letterman — in January.

Growing 15 percent in total viewers from week to week, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” averaged 2.86 million, its best performance since it moved from a later timeslot during the week of Jan. 7.

In the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” also shot up over the previous week, climbing 29 percent to 1.05 million viewers in the demo — also its best performance since the January timeslot switch, excluding the NBA finals week in June.

NBC’s “Tonight Show” still topped the week, grabbing first place in the demo with 1.112 million and in total viewers with an average 4.121 million.
