Spoiler Alert: Stop reading if you have not yet watched Sunday's Revenge!

After a nearly five-month wait, Sunday's Revenge finally revealed that the identity of the dead male hand in the boat belonged to minor mobster character Nate Ryan (Michael Trucco). But that wasn't the big news. Also killed in a bloody battle aboard Jack's Amanda boat was the real Emily Thorne, a.k.a. 'Fauxmanda' Clark. (ABC's tricky promos, teasing that Emily Thorne would pay "the ultimate price" turned out to be dead-on.)

The character's portrayer, Margarita Levieva, is understandably disappointed, but agrees that her character had completed an emotional arc and served her purpose.

Keck's Exclusives: Revenge executive producer on Sunday's big death

TV Guide Magazine: At the start of the season, did you expect you'd go down on the Amanda?
Margarita Levieva:
Yeah, because I was only scheduled to do 14 episodes and I knew I'd be out after that. So I kind of figured. Originally I was only supposed to do 7 of the 14, so I thought it could have been happening earlier.

TV Guide Magazine: When did producers definitely inform you of your fate?
Levieva:
I remember watching the first episode with [executive producer] Mike Kelley and halfway through he told me I was going to have a pretty dramatic, heroic death on the Amanda.

TV Guide Magazine: What was your reaction?
Leveiva:
Mixed and bittersweet. It's time for her to leave after having gone through such a great arc. I thought she was going to die last season. But in the end they gave me an amazing death — saving Jack and Emily before dying in her arms. I couldn't have asked for anything better. So in a way I was ready for it, but as the time got closer I got really bummed out.

TV Guide Magazine: What was it like shooting your final scenes?
Levieva:
Difficult and draining. We were out in the middle of freezing water in a secluded area up on the Universal lot near the Jaws lake.

TV Guide Magazine: Who among your co-stars took it the hardest?
Levieva:
Definitely Emily [VanCamp] because of our emotional sisterly bond. There's a flashback scene in this death episode that really shows the care we had for each other. And a lot of my stuff was with Nick Wechsler [Jack], who I always pulled over to the craft service table in between takes. The whole crew was sorry to say goodbye too. And Mike gave me the tie iron prop Amanda used as her first murder weapon last season. What a great gift. It blew me away. I live alone so now I have this for defense in place of a baseball bat.

TV Guide Magazine: What do you hope Amanda's legacy will be?
Levieva:
In a way I feel her death is a gift to Emily. It's necessary for Emily to continue getting revenge. She has new reason to go on with her mission after getting a little bit away from it in Season 2 with the Initiative and her relationship with Aiden. So I'll feel I made a worthy sacrifice if Emily is now inspired to fight harder.
