Lamar Odom Hospitalized After Being Found Unconscious in Brothel

Updated at 7:55 p.m. PT with statement from the Nye County Sheriff’s department.

Lamar Odom was hospitalized Tuesday after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, the owner of the brothel told TheWrap.

According to Dennis Hof, Odom was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Pahrump, Nevada, and later taken to a medical facility in nearby Las Vegas.

The former NBA star was found unconscious in his room at the Love Ranch South in Pahrump. According to Hof, the situation is “not good.”

A 911 call was made at around 3:15 pm Tuesday by Richard Hunter, Media Director for the Bunny Ranch, requesting an ambulance for an unresponsive male experiencing a medical emergency, according to a statement from the Nye County Sheriff’s Office on their Facebook page.

The patient, identified as Odom was stabilized and transported to Desert View Hospital arriving at 4:16 p.m., with Detectives Cory Fowles and Michael Eisenloffel conducting an investigation on the scene.

“After being treated by the physicians, arrangements were made to transport him by Mercy Air helicopter. However, Mr. Odom was unable to be transported by air due to his stature,” the statement said, noting that Odom’s 6’10” frame caused attempts to airlift him to fail.

“He was immediately transported by Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Ambulance to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada for further treatment.”

Odom, a former Los Angeles Lakers player and U.S. Olympian who rose to reality TV fame after marrying Khloe Kardashian, had arrived at the brothel on Saturday and had been partying with the women there for days before he was found, TMZ reports.

The first round draft pick joined the NBA in 1999 and went on to play for the Lakers from 2004 to 2011.

He last played in the league for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2013 before becoming a free agent in July of that year. A month later, he was arrested for DUI. On Dec. 9, 2013, Odom pleaded no contest to the charge and accepted a sentence of three years probation and three months of alcohol abuse treatment.

Kardashian filed for divorce four days later following months of speculation that their marriage was in trouble. The couple’s September 2009 wedding was featured on an episode of E!’s reality series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” A short-lived spin-off, “Khloe & Lamar,” premiered in April 2011 and aired for two seasons.

TheWrap’s attempts to reach the Pahrump Fire Department have been unsuccessful.
