‘Law & Order’ Director Jason Alexander Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Jason “Jace” Alexander, a director whose credits include several episodes of “Law & Order,” has been hit with two felony child pornography charges, the Westchester County, New York, district attorney’s office said Wednesday.

According to the D.A.’s office, Alexander, of Dobbs Ferry, New York, has been charged with one count of promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and one count of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, a class E felony. Both charges stem from allegedly possessing and file-sharing illegal and obscene performances of sexual conduct by children younger than 17.

The district attorney’s office said that an investigator downloaded child porn from an IP address in Westchester County, which an investigation revealed was assigned to Alexander’s home.

After a search warrant was executed at Alexander’s home address, a forensic examination of computers and external hard drives removed from the location revealed digital files of children who are less than 16 years of age engaged in child pornography, according to the DA.

Alexander, 51, was arraigned at Dobbs Ferry Village Court, with bail set at $10,000. If convicted, he faces seven years in state prison.

The director is next due in court on Nov. 19.

In addition to 32 episodes of “Law & Order,” Alexander’s credits include “Rescue Me,” “Royal Pains” and “I Just Want My Pants Back.”
