Lea Michele has a big month coming up.

On Sept. 22, her new show Scream Queens premieres on Fox. On the same day, her new book You First: Journal Your Way to Your Best Life comes out. She's also working on her second music album.

Michele sat down with Flare magazine to discuss all of those endeavors, as well as how she rebounded from the crushing blow of her boyfriend and co-stars Cory Monteith's death in July 2013 (yes, it's been two years already!).

After Monteith's fatal relapse with alcohol and heroin, Michele said she had to check in with herself and be whole on her own again before she could move forward.

"I wanted to make sure that I was okay with me, feeling strong and feeling happy on my own," she told Flare. "I wanted to make sure that I was a whole person again and that no one was coming into my life to put me back together."

She said after she did all of that emotional heavy lifting, she was lucky enough to find love again.

"I worked very, very, very hard and I got back to that place where I was genuinely happy and strong and ready to live again and see the world and, you know, bring in more beautiful experiences," she said. "And that's when someone miraculously came into my life."

That someone is Matthew Paetz, whom Michele met in April 2014 after he co-starred in one of her music videos -- an anniversary she observed on Instagram earlier this year.
