‘Live With Kelly and Michael’ Hits 8-Year Ratings High in May Sweep

Syndicated ABC talk show “Live With Kelly and Michael” inched up to an eight-year high in this year’s May sweep, posting its best May sweep performance since 2007.

In the period, “Live” grew 4 percent in homes and 6 percent in total viewers compared to last year’s May sweep, posting a 2.9 rating and 3.854 million respectively.

By way of comparison, top-rated CBS show “Dr. Phil” dipped 3 percent in homes and 1 percent in total viewers, while NBC’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” ticked down 7 percent in homes and 5 percent in total viewers during this year’s May sweep.

For the 2014-2015 season, “Live With Kelly and Michael” finished as the second-place syndicated talk show, averaging a 3.0 household rating a 4.064 million total viewers — upticks of 3 percent and 5 percent, respectively, over the prior season.

First-place “Dr. Phil” averaged a 3.2 household rating for the season, even with the prior season, and 4.452 million total viewers, a 5 percent bump over the previous season. “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” took third place among syndicated talkers, averaging a 2.7 household rating and 3.695 million total viewers, down 4 percent and 2 percent, respectively.
