‘MasterChef Junior’ Renewed For Season 4, Christina Tosi Joins As New Judge
Another early renewal for Gordon Ramsay’s kids cooking competition series MasterChef Junior. Barely one week into the Fox show’s third season, the network has given it a pickup for a fourth season.
Pastry chef Christina Tosi, owner and founder of New York City’s Milk Bar, will join returning judges Ramsay and chef Graham Elliot on both the MasterChef and MasterChef Junior judging panels. She succeeds restaurateur and winemaker Joe Bastianich who recently announced his departure from the reality franchise he had been a part of since the launch.
Season Six of MasterChef is currently in production for a summer run. Production on Season Four of MasterChef Junior will begin this spring. Endemol Shine North America and One Potato Two Potato produce.
Fox previously made orders for Season 2 and Season 3 of MasterChef Junior in the span of three months, with the two cycles filming back-to-back. The unscripted series, featuring young chefs-in-training, has thrived since getting a time slot upgrade from Friday to Tuesday 8 PM last fall where it replaced struggling Utopia.
Who would’ve thought that Fox, home of some of the raciest and most controversial reality shows on television, like Temptation Island and Who’s Your Daddy?, would boast the biggest unscripted slate of wholesome, family-friendly fare with MasterChef Junior, American Idol and the upcoming revival of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?
