NBC's Smash is clinging to life after a one-night performance of "Bombshell," the musical within the show about Marilyn Monroe, was recently revealed to be in development as a full-blown stage musical. And it sounds like some of the original cast is on board!

Megan Hilty, who played Ivy Lynn, vying for the role of Marilyn in Smash, weighed in on the show's newfound life. "I'm really glad all that great material is going to be heard possibly eight times a week here on Broadway," she told Entertainment Weekly at Monday night's Voices for the Voiceless: Stars for Foster Kids event in New York. "These songs are genius and incredible and beautiful and I'm really glad they have a life after Smash."

She may not know too much about the musical's development, but Hilty says she'd love to reprise her role on Broadway. "That would be amazing," she exclaimed. "We'll see, you never know.

Smash's "Bombshell" could be headed to Broadway

Accompanied by Marc Shaiman (who penned Smash and "Bombshell's" tunes along with Scott Wittman), Hilty did perform "Second Hand White Baby Grand" from the series at the Voices for the Voiceless concert, and said she's working on another possibly longer-running project that's under wraps until an official announcement.
