Megyn Kelly Says Duggar Interview Won’t Be ‘Cross-Examination’ (Video)

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly said her exclusive interview with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar “isn’t going to be a cross-examination of a family.”

“I want to hear their story. And I think America wants to hear their story now,” Kelly also said Monday. She will exclusively interview the parents from TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting” in their first public appearance since news broke that their son Josh molested five underage girls when he was a teenager.

Kelly was particularly disturbed that some in the media have tried to attach the Duggar scandal to the GOP. “Bill Clinton was accused of rape,” Kelly said. “But the fact that a presidential candidate has posed with some random member of the family that’s going through this issue is somehow a problem for the GOPers?”

“I’ve been pretty disgusted by how some liberal media types are using what’s obviously a family tragedy to score political points,” Fox News media analyst Howard Kurtz said.

The two were also upset that Josh Duggar’s juvenile records were leaked by someone in law enforcement, as these records are supposed to be sealed.

“Because what’s happened here are Josh Duggar’s private, personal, sealed records have been improperly released,” Kelly said. “It doesn’t excuse any of his behavior and it’s not meant to diminish it either. But the records of the young girls have also been released.”
