Mila Kunis Comforts Emotional Ashton Kutcher at Kabbalah Leader's Funeral in Israel

Some of Hollywood's biggest stars are in mourning following the death of Kabbalah Chief Rabbi Philip Berg -- and Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher were two familiar faces among the throng of thousands who paid their respects at his funeral. The couple, clad in all white, were somber as they attended Berg's burial in Safed, Israel, on Wednesday, Sept. 18, where the religious leader was buried in a giant mausoleum.

According to an onlooker, Kunis, 30, and Kutcher, 35, took part in a moment of silence before joining the crowd in a rendition of "Ani Ma'amin" (a Hebrew expression said in the coming of the Messiah). Afterward, Kutcher looked noticeably moved, the eyewitness told Us.

"Ashton was emotionally invested," the source said. "When the chant died down, he started reciting passages under his breath for about 10 minutes." During that time, Kunis kept an arm around her former That 70s Show costar.

During the burial itself, another source told Us, the pair remained close to the front of the crowd, which was primarily reserved for Berg's close family members.

"They were standing amongst the prolific members," the insider said. "Ashton spoke briefly to [the Chief Rabbi's wife] Karen Berg and her sons after the burial."

Afterward, the couple chatted with friends separately for a bit before leaving the site.

Berg founded the Los Angeles-based Kabbalah center back in 1993 after moving it from its original location in New York in the 1960s. Other famous Kabbalah followers include Madonna, Lindsay Lohan, and Kutcher's ex-wife, Demi Moore. Kutcher and Moore, 50, even said "I do" in the L.A. center back in 2005.
