NBC Sets Finale Dates for ‘The Blacklist,’ ‘The Voice’ and Others
NBC is spreading out its season finales this spring, on Tuesday announcing end dates ranging from mid-April through late May.
NBC is clearing the decks on Thursday with early finales for “Community” (pictured) and “Parenthood” on April 17, and then an hourlong “Parks and Recreation” on April 24. The previously announced “Parks” finale features an appearance by First Lady Michelle Obama.
It’s not surprising the net is looking for some other way to fill low-rated Thursdays during the May sweep, but it’s unclear what programming will air on the night for the final three Thursdays of the ratings period.
The Peacock’s most successful scripted skein, rookie “The Blacklist,” wraps its first season on May 12, and the season of sophomore drama “Chicago Fire” is extinguished one night later. That same week also sees the conclusions of “Revolution” on May 14 and “Grimm” on May 16.
Top-rated music competition “The Voice” closes its season on May 20, a Tuesday. It’s followed on the finale front by “Law & Order: SVU” and “Chicago PD” on May 21, and finally by “Hannibal,” which only recently started its second season, on May 23.
