Netflix in December: What’s New, What’s Leaving, and What to Watch

December is right around the corner, which means there are a bunch of new titles coming to Netflix, and a bunch more on the way out. But which arrivals should you be marking on your calendar, and which of the expiring offerings should you be rushing to watch before the clock strikes 12 on Nov. 30?

Let’s start with what you should be looking forward to: “A Very Murray Christmas.”

Available Dec. 4, comedy icon Bill Murray will be joined by a bunch of his Hollywood friends — and Miley Cyrus, for some reason — for this holiday-themed variety show directed by Sofia Coppola (“Lost in Translation”).

Before that comedian Brent Morin drops a new special on Dec. 1, and then fans of Canadian comedic misfits “The Trailer Park Boys” can look forward to their Netflix special, “Drunk, High and Unemployed Live in Austin,” which starts streaming on Dec. 9.

Remember all that Native American outrage surrounding Adam Sandler‘s next comedy, “The Ridiculous 6”? Find out if it was warranted on Dec. 11 when the Western parody starts streaming.

If another potentially bad Sandler movie isn’t enticing, perhaps a new animated family sitcom from comedian Bill Burr is. Netflix Original “F Is for Family” premieres on Dec. 18, along with Season 1 of another exclusive series, “Making a Murderer,” as well as actor Mike Epps‘ return to stand-up comedy in the Netflix special “Don’t Take It Personal.”

TheWrap can only recommend what has been seen, so with that in mind, here are a few movies (and their availability) to be on the look out for if you haven’t seen them yet: “Stir of Echoes” (12/1), “Darkman” (12/1), “Jenny’s Wedding” (12/1), “Ray” (12/1), “Tangerine” (12/2),”Matt Shepard Is a Friend of Mine” (12/3) and “The Da Vinci Code” (12/14).

Here’s the bad news: There are a bunch of movies getting the boot next month, too.
