Nicholas Brendon Enters Rehab After Third Arrest in Three Months
Actor Nicholas Brendon entered rehab in California Monday "to treat his depression, alcoholism and substance abuse problems," according to a post on his Facebook page.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum, 44, has had a whirlwind year. Dating back to October, he's been arrested several times -- including three times this year already, with one just two weeks ago -- while traveling to fan conventions, on charges including public intoxication, grand theft and criminal mischief. He also got married late last year in Las Vegas, and split from his new wife in February, less than five months after their nuptials.

"He has been aware of his problems for some time- and with each new challenge, he gained a greater understanding of what needed to be done to overcome these obstacles and move forward with his life," read the post, which was written by his spokesperson Andrea Albin. "Since his arrest last October, Nicky had tried several treatment methods -- from therapy, to outpatient services -- only to realize recently that he needed to take an extended break and treat the underlying issues of his illnesses."
According to the Facebook post, Brendon will not attend any fan conventions or other public events in June and July, but plans to make appearances at conventions later this summer after he completes his treatment program.
