This was far and away Nicole Kidman's worst fashion week experience ever. The Oscar-winning actress, 46, was struck down on a sidewalk outside the Carlyle Hotel in uptown Manhattan after a bizarre collision with a paparazzo on a bicycle on Thursday, Sept. 12. Photos of the incident show the redheaded Australian star taking a spill dressed in high heels and a sexy grey minidress.
An eyewitness explains to Us Weekly that the Paperboy actress had come out of the Calvin Klein fashion show downtown in Tribeca and took a car to the Carlyle on the Upper East Side. When she emerged from her car to go inside the hotel, photographer Carl Wu, in hot pursuit to get a shot of the superstar, came down the sidewalk on his bicycle going about 20 miles per hour. Losing control of his bike, Wu crashed right into Kidman. who fell on impact.
Helped up by a bodyguard and her publicist, Keith Urban's wife was heard yelling "Oh, my god!" and "Ow, ow."
"She looked hurt, but there wasn't any blood," the observer says. "She put her shoes back on and ran into the Carlyle."
Kidman is expected to press charges against Wu, who was served with a ticket and later arrived at a local police station. "His brakes on his bike completely gave out and he lost control," the witness explains.
