NY Times Reporter Blasts Judith Miller Over Iraq Reporting: ‘Epidemic of Buck-Passing’ (Video)

Judith Miller’s book tour rolled on Monday and she was still downplaying her reporting role in the buildup to the Iraq War.

“Rather than the paper [New York Times] saying, ‘hey we published what we knew at the time, the paper kind of panicked and said we have to find someone to blame for this,” Miller said on Morning Joe about the paper’s treatment of her.

She continued to blame the Times for singling out the “pushy woman” and not looking toward “aggressive” male reporters for the paper’s erroneous reporting about weapons of mass destruction leading up to the Iraq War.

But current Times reporter Nick Confessore wasn’t buying Miller’s line: “It feels like an epidemic of buck-passing,” he said. “Your stories were wrong, right? The paper did defend you when you were on trial. If I have a story and it’s wrong, I don’t say the sources are wrong, I say I’m wrong.”

Miller admitted she was wrong.

“Absolutely,” Miller said. “What I want to do is go back and show and why the sources and I got it wrong, and the Times wouldn’t let me do that…that’s what is reprehensible. You always have to go back and correct the record.”
