‘Parks and Recreation’s’ Schur, Hubbard Reteam for NBC Interracial Family Comedy

NBC has given a production commitment to an interracial family comedy from Matt Hubbard and Mike Schur.

The single-camera comedy tells the story of a happily-married interracial couple, Andrew and Josie, whose lives take a turn when they move close to Josie’s family in Missouri.

Hubbard and Schur, who are writing the script, will serve as executive producers on the project with David Miner of 3 Arts Entertainment. Universal Television is producing with 3 Arts and Schur’s Fremulon. Both Schur and Hubbard have deals at Universal.

Hubbard and Schur previously worked together on “Parks and Recreation,” where Schur was executive producer. Hubbard was a producer on Tina Fey‘s NBC comedy series “30 Rock.” Schur currently serves as executive producer on Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and Netflix’s upcoming series “Master of None,” co-created by an starring former “Parks and Recreation” cast member Aziz Ansari.
