Pilot Casting News: Martin Short Teams Up With SNL Boss, Once Heroine Will Believe and More

Survey says… Martin Short is reuniting with his old Saturday Night Live boss!

The comedian is finalizing a deal to play a game-show host in NBC’s untitled Lorne Michaels/John Mulaney project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The multi-camera project is based loosely on former SNL scribe Mulaney’s life and will follow a group of young people and their hijinks. Lorne Michaels (Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock), Dave Becky (Louie), and David Miner and Andrew Singer (30 Rock) will exec-produce.

SCTV vet Short will play Lou Cannon, the host/boss for whom Mulaney writes jokes.
