Bakula will play a detective who is also the ex-husband of Davis’ character, a Seattle bail bondswoman whose eccentric personality and unusual tactics give her an advantage in a tough and unpredictable business.
The yet-to-be-titled pilot, penned by Scott Prendergast and Amy Berg, to be directed by Dean Devlin (Leverage) and inspired by the real-life story of Mackenzie Green, will shoot in mid-March.
Four-time Oscar nominee Marsha Mason previously was cast as Davis’ bounty hunter-helping TV mom.
Bakula, who earlier this week booked a Two and a Half Men appearance, next can be seen in HBO Films’ Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra as well as the indie films Elsa and Fred (playing son to Shirley MacLaine) and Snap (a psychological thriller starring The Sarah Connor Chronicles‘ Thomas Dekker). His previous TV credits include TNT’s Men of a Certain Age and Quantum Leap.
