Popular Reality Shows Currently Casting: 'The Biggest Loser,' 'The Voice,' 'Fashion Star,' and More

There are various reasons why people sign up for reality shows. Some seek fame and fortune, some want to change their lives, and others hope to promote their work to the large TV audience. Whatever the motive, there is always a non-scripted series looking for participants. Here are some of the shows currently casting.

'Biggest Loser'

Beginning Saturday, June 16, "The Biggest Loser" is launching a 13-city nationwide search for contestants to take part in Season 14 of the most popular weight loss show on TV. People who are 18 years old and over with at least 85 pounds to lose can attend an open call in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Detroit, Kansas City, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, Cleveland, Dallas, or San Diego. For those who can't make one of the calls, they are also accepting video submissions. More details on how to apply are available on the show's casting website.

'Shark Tank'

For the past three seasons the "Shark Tank" sharks have invested their own money in ordinary people's hopes and dreams, many to great success. Any entrepreneurs or inventors looking for money, guidance, and mentorship from some of the sharpest minds in business can apply to present their idea on "Shark Tank." Applicants can submit an email describing their business or idea or can attend an open call in Orlando, Florida, on June 14. Other casting calls will be added at a later date. For details visit the ABC casting website.

'The Voice'

Open casting calls begin for the next season of "The Voice" in July. But it's not too early to begin preparing for the big day. There will be auditions in Memphis (July 7 and 8), Minneapolis (July 14 and 15), New York (July 21 and 22), Dallas (July 28 and 29), and Los Angeles (August 11 and 12). For those who can't make it to one of these cities, video submissions will be accepted. Before applying, interested parties need to create an artist account on "The Voice" casting website.

'Fashion Star'

Season 1 of "Fashion Star" was a great success, with many designers selling hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of clothing to Saks, Macy's, and H&M. And the winner, Kara Laricks, received a $6 million collection deal with the three retailers. For designers who think they have what it takes, there are three ways to apply: fill out an application and submit a video online, mail in an application and video, or attend an open call. In person auditions will be held in Los Angeles on June 30, New York City and Dallas on July 14, Atlanta and San Francisco on July 21, Chicago on July 22, and Miami on July 28. Check the "Fashion Star" casting web site for further details.
