'Portlandia' Renewed for 2 More Seasons

The Wrap

Portland's feminist bookstores and bike valets better not let down their guard: IFC has renewed "Portlandia" for a fourth and fifth season.

The show follows "Saturday Night Live" star Fred Armisen and Sleater-Kinney veteran Carrie Brownstein as they affectionately mock the affectations of Oregon hipsters. The renewals come as Armisen weighs whether to return to "SNL," but may not have any bearing on his decision: He already juggles the two shows.

The two new 10-episode seasons will premiere in early 2014 and early 2015, respectively.

"'Portlandia' has celebrated sustainable local agriculture, underemployment, avian crafting, gender politics, intense bicycle messengers and so much more," said Jennifer Caserta, president and general manager of IFC.  "We can now celebrate two more seasons."

Besides Armisen and Brownstein, "Portlandia" has been populated with such guest stars as Kyle MacLachlan, Chloƫ Sevigny, Jeff Goldblum, Kumail Nanjiani, Roseanne Barr, Rose Byrne, Patton Oswalt, Martina Navratilova, and George Wendt.
