In a segment that switched back and forth between goofy and serious, the president — stepping in for Fallon's regular news jammer Brian Williams — addressed hot political topics from student loans to national debt while house band The Roots provided smooth music and Fallon crooned funny little remarks from “the Barackness Monster ain’t buying it” to "And the president knows his stuff, yo.”

The special episode of “Late Night with Jimmy” was taped on location during Obama's visit to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The president has been on a two-day tour of college campuses.

The president isn't the first member of his family to appear on Fallon's talk show. In February, Michelle Obama was a guest and first dog Bo also made a cameo.
